Team Roles & Permissions

Configure who can view, edit, and manage projects across your organization.

Overview

GeoQC uses role-based access control to ensure team members see and do only what's appropriate for their role. Roles are assigned at the workspace level and can be further refined with project assignments.

Workspace roles

Each team member in your workspace is assigned one of these roles:

Admin

  • Full access to workspace settings and billing
  • Can create, archive, and delete projects
  • Can invite and remove team members
  • Can assign roles and project permissions
  • Access to all project data across the workspace

Manager

  • Can create projects and manage team assignments
  • Cross-project visibility for all assigned projects
  • Can generate and export reports
  • Cannot modify billing or workspace settings

Supervisor

  • Can manage assigned projects
  • Can add and edit documentation within assigned projects
  • Can view team activity within their projects
  • Can generate reports for their projects

Technician

  • Can create and edit documentation within assigned projects
  • Full access to deployment, seam, repair, and test logging
  • Can use the drawing canvas
  • Cannot manage team members or project settings

Viewer

  • Read-only access to assigned project data
  • Can view reports and drawings
  • Cannot create or edit any documentation
  • Useful for project owners, engineers, and clients

Project assignments

Beyond workspace roles, team members must be assigned to specific projects. A Technician, for example, only sees the projects they're assigned to. Managers and Admins can see all projects.

To assign a team member to a project, go to Project Settings → Team and select the members.

Tip: For CQA consultants who work across multiple client projects, the Manager role provides cross-project visibility while keeping project data separated.

Audit trail

All documentation actions are recorded with the user who performed them. The audit trail shows who created, edited, or deleted every entry — providing accountability and compliance documentation.
