Repair Tracking

Document every repair with defect type, repair method, before/after photos, and test results.

Overview

The Repair Log tracks every repair made to the geomembrane liner. Each repair is documented with the defect that caused it, the repair method used, and the test results confirming the repair integrity.

Creating a repair entry

  1. Repair number — Auto-generated sequentially.
  2. Location — Describe or mark on the as-built drawing where the repair is located.
  3. Defect type — Select from standard options:
    • Puncture / hole
    • Thin spot / score
    • Contamination
    • Seam failure
    • Construction damage
    • Other (with description)
  4. Repair type — Cap patch, extrusion bead, grind and re-weld, or panel replacement.
  5. Repair operator — Who performed the repair.
  6. Photos — Before and after photos of the repair area.

Repair testing

Every repair must be tested. Record the NDT method and result:

  • Vacuum box test (most common for cap patches)
  • Air lance test
  • Spark test

If the repair involves a destructive test, link it from the Destructive Testing section.

Drawing integration

Repairs marked in the Repair Log appear on the as-built drawing with a distinct repair symbol. This ensures the final as-constructed record shows all repair locations.

Tip: Take photos with your tablet's camera directly from the repair entry screen. Photos are automatically attached and timestamped.
