Supported Devices

Platform availability, requirements, and recommendations for field and office use.

Platform overview

GeoQC is built with Kotlin Compose Multiplatform, which means a single codebase runs natively on all platforms. The experience is consistent across devices.

Android (tablets)

Recommended for field use. Android tablets are the primary field device for GeoQC.

  • Minimum: Android 8.0 (API 26)
  • Recommended: Android 12+ with 4GB RAM
  • Screen size: 10" tablets recommended for drawing
  • Storage: 500MB+ free space recommended

Recommended tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab S series, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active (ruggedized), Lenovo Tab P series. Look for tablets with good outdoor screen visibility and optional protective cases.

iOS (coming soon)

Native iPad and iPhone support is planned but not yet available. In the meantime, iOS users can access GeoQC through the web browser for management and review. We'll announce iPad and iPhone availability when it ships.

Desktop

Recommended for management and reporting. The desktop app provides the same functionality as the tablet app with a larger-screen layout.

  • macOS: 12.0 (Monterey) or later
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • Requirements: JDK 17+ runtime (bundled with installer)

Web browser (online only)

Access GeoQC from any modern web browser for management and review. The web app requires an internet connection — offline use is available on the Android tablet and desktop apps.

  • Chrome 90+, Firefox 90+, Safari 15+, Edge 90+
  • Best for managers reviewing data and generating reports
  • Drawing features are available but optimized for tablet touch input

Recommended setup

For a typical installation crew, we recommend:

  • Field technicians: Android tablet (10"+) with protective case and screen protector
  • Supervisors: Android tablet or desktop app
  • QC managers: Desktop app or web browser
  • Project engineers / owners: Web browser
