As-Built Drawings

Create panel layouts, seam lines, and repair annotations directly on your tablet with the drawing canvas.

Overview

GeoQC's drawing canvas lets you create as-built drawings directly on your tablet. The drawing is bidirectionally linked to your documentation logs — add a panel on the drawing and it creates a deployment log entry; log a seam and it appears on the drawing.

Drawing modes

The canvas has multiple drawing modes, each designed for a specific type of element:

  • Boundary mode — Draw the project boundary (excavation limits, crest lines). This defines the containment area.
  • Toe Line mode — Draw toe-of-slope lines within the boundary.
  • Panel mode — Draw individual geomembrane panels. Panels snap to boundaries and adjacent panels.
  • Seam mode — Draw seam lines between panels. Seams auto-link to the panels they connect.
  • Repair mode — Mark repair locations on panels.
  • Structure mode — Draw pipe boots, sumps, and other penetrations through the liner.
  • Corner Line mode — Draw corner and fold lines within panels.

Panel snapping

When drawing panels, GeoQC's smart snapping system helps create accurate layouts:

  • Panels snap to boundary edges
  • Panel edges align with adjacent panels automatically
  • Auto-alignment ensures consistent panel spacing
  • Manual adjustment is available for irregular layouts

Multi-layer support

For projects with multiple liner layers (primary, secondary, leak detection), each layer gets its own drawing space. Switch between layers using the layer selector in the drawing toolbar.

Measurement anchors

Place measurement reference points on boundaries and toe lines to tie your digital drawing to real-world site dimensions. These anchors help verify that the digital layout matches the physical installation.

Editing elements

Tap any element on the drawing to select it. You can:

  • Move, resize, or rotate panels
  • Edit points and segments of boundaries
  • Delete and redraw elements
  • Undo and redo changes

Exporting drawings

Export your as-built drawing from the drawing toolbar:

  • PDF — High-resolution vector output for printing and reports
  • PNG — Raster image for presentations and emails

The drawing is also included automatically when you generate a CQA report.
